Todd A. Conklin Named Chief Financial Officer of Care New England

(Providence, RI)  --  After conducting a national search to replace Joseph Iannoni as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Care New England Health System, following his retirement, Todd A. Conklin has been selected to lead the healthcare system as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

 

Conklin is an innovative healthcare Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and operations executive with extensive and diverse experience in leading independent community-based integrated academic health systems, multi-specialty physician groups/practice plans, and health insurance plans.

With thirty-five years of experience in the industry, Conklin is a healthcare finance thought leader, team builder, and collaborator with a consistent record of improving organizational financial performance through innovative integrated strategic planning and implementation, business process optimization, and building high-performing finance teams.

Conklin received his CPA certification in Illinois, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University and an MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Most recently, Conklin served as System Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Lifespan Health System. In this role, Conklin was responsible for system-wide accountabilities with annual revenues of $3 billion. While there, he successfully led system-wide sustainability, financial, and operational improvement initiatives. Conklin also led efforts that significantly improved operating margins, and successfully worked to improve and stabilize Lifespan’s bond rating and outlook.

His areas of expertise include integrated strategic financial planning, profitability improvement, revenue cycle management, labor productivity management, captive insurance company management, managed care contracting, state and federal reimbursement relationships, bond financings, and supply chain management.

He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He also serves on various local boards.

In his spare time, Conklin enjoys running and spending time with his family. Conklin lives in Providence with his wife, Thao, and their two children.

His first day is Monday, February 13, 2023.
