Patterson, MD**, as medical director of [The Breast Health Center](https://www.kentri.org/services/breast-health/index.cfm?__hstc=73991757.0e446f24402bc7ab88eb406e31e9a35b.1593093426886.1595958193285.1595960920895.10&__hssc=73991757.15.1595960920895&__hsfp=963986454) at Kent Hospital. Dr. Patterson is a fellowship trained breast surgeon and earned her medical degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She completed further training in breast surgical oncology through the University of Southern California/Hoag Breast Oncology Fellowship Program under the renowned breast surgeon, Dr. Melvin Silverstein, who pioneered oncoplastic breast surgery in the United States. She has extensive experience in breast conserving surgery, oncoplastic breast surgery, skin and nipple-sparing mastectomies, pregnancy-associated breast cancer, and hidden-scar surgeries. With a strong background in women’s health, she provides a unique holistic approach to breast care. She focuses on breast disease, surgical management of breast cancer, inherited breast cancer syndromes, and sexual health and menopause in cancer survivorship. In addition to her leadership role at Kent Hospital, Dr. Patterson also serves as an assistant clinical professor of surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and assists in training residents and fellows in the Women & Infants Hospital Breast Fellowship Program. She is also an active member in several professional organizations including American Society of Breast Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. “I am excited to be joining Care New England and Kent Hospital, and feel very fortunate to work with such a dedicated staff and support team at The Breast Health Center.
