Care New England Welcomes Dr. Beard

Dr. Rachel Beard is a board-certified surgeon specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, surgical oncology, and general surgery. She has been practicing in Rhode Island since 2017. As a member of the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, Dr. Beard brings highly specialized expertise in complex liver, pancreas, and bile duct surgery to as Division Chief of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery at Care New England.

Dr. Beard earned her medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, then completed a general surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She went on to complete advanced fellowship training in hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health.
