As the number of cases of Covid-19 continues to decrease in Rhode Island, hospitals, under guidance from the Rhode Island Department of Health, are taking the first steps to relax visitor restrictions.
Visitors are welcome on most inpatient units between the hours of 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. A single visitor is allowed per patient at one time.
One adult visitor is permitted at all times.
For the safety of our patients and staff during this busy time, visitors are not allowed in the Emergency Department.
Visitors are not permitted in the Ambulatory Surgery area. If the patient is admitted, then inpatient visitation is allowed.
Obstetric patients may have one birth partner during their entire stay, and if applicable, a pre-designated doula while in labor. Visitation times are unrestricted for the single birth partner.
For safety reasons, some patients may not have visitors. This includes patients whom some confirmed or suspected to have COVID. We encourage family and friends to use video calls when the patient’s condition allows.
Special accommodations to allow enhanced visitation for patients with a disability are available.
In very limited circumstances, exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the Administrator on Call.
