- Kahlil Gibran

“Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the o’er-fraught heart and bids it break.”
- William Shakespeare

This support group will focus on a variety of ways to engage and explore the ways grief and loss alters and shapes our lives. Navigating through feelings and emotions associated with grieving have a life of their own often depleting our energy, leaving us anxious, disoriented, and depressed. This seven-week support group is designed to encourage participants to identify and share their thoughts and feelings in their grieving process as well as develop new skills in personal expression.

Reiki

On hold due to COVID-19.

Reiki refers to "universal life force energy" healing, which is used all over the world in places including hospitals and hospices. It was developed as a Natural Healing System by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900s. It aids in healing by helping people become energetically balanced physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. A consultation is also included in your appointment. All sessions are done completely clothed in a warm and relaxing environment. People use Reiki for relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief, in efforts to improve overall health and well-being. It is also believed to bring about a peaceful, deep state of relaxation, dissolve energy blockages and tension, detoxify the body, support the well-being of a person receiving traditional medical treatments that are debilitating, stimulate the body’s immune system, help relieve pain, stimulate tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery, as well as increase energy on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Sixty minute individual reiki sessions will be offered at the CNE discounted rate of $52, at Duncan Lodge, 200 Butler Drive, on the Butler Hospital campus. Booking availability includes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 4:30 or 6 p.m., or on Friday, at 1, 2:30, 4, 5:30 or 7 p.m.
