Care New England
Care New England’s strengths are based on complementary programs and distinctive competencies of its member organizations. With significant outreach across southeastern New England, Care New England serves as a regional focal point for family health and is well integrated to deliver a continuum of high quality health care. In addition to a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, Care New England's member organizations have excelled at developing alternative forms of health care delivery, including education outreach centers, wellness programs, community medical office sites, and home health services.
Butler Hospital is the premier treatment, teaching and research hospital for psychiatric, movement and memory disorders, serving Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. Butler offers acute inpatient and partial hospital services for psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adults and adolescents and includes a state-of-the-art senior treatment center.
Kent Hospital, the second largest hospital in Rhode Island, provides a full spectrum of primary and acute care services, including:
- Cardiology services enhanced by a clinical affiliation with Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
- Weight loss surgery program.
- Emergency department with rapid assessment and virtually no wait.
- The Breast Health Center at Kent, a collaboration with Women & Infants Hospital.
- The Inpatient Rehabilitation Center at Kent.

Kent Hospital is an affiliate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) for medical education.
The Providence Center
The Providence Center is at the forefront of innovative approaches to behavioral health care designed to meet the changing needs of the more than 18,000 Rhode Islanders it serves each year. Since The Providence Center opened its doors in 1969, it has been a community resource, providing people from all walks of life with mental health and substance use services in their homes, schools and neighborhoods. Through over 60 programs and wraparound services, including:

- Job training
- Legal services
- Primary health care
- Wellness activities
- Peer recovery services
The Providence Center is committed to meeting the community’s needs. In December 2014, The Providence Center became an affiliate of the Care New England Health System.
Women & Infants
Women & Infants Hospital is the region’s premier hospital for women and newborn children. It is the nation’s eighth busiest stand-alone obstetrical service and operates one of the nation’s largest single-family room neonatal intensive care units. It is also the premier hospital in the region for women seeking treatment for:
- Gynecologic and breast cancers
- High-risk and normal obstetrics
- Postpartum depression
- Gastrointestinal disorders
- Other medical conditions
VNA of Care New England
The VNA of Care New England provides a broad spectrum of home health, hospice and private duty nursing services for new mothers, the elderly and the terminally ill. A trusted community resource, the VNA offers bereavement support groups, health screenings and community education sessions in an effort to maintain healthy communities.
Care New England Wellness Center
The Care New England Wellness Center combines hospital expertise with personalized guidance to offer an array of wellness, fitness and educational programs for people of all ages. Personalized wellness programs that include nutrition counseling and supervised fitness plans are created to help manage medical issues such as diabetes and heart disease.
