Kent Hospital's Wound Recovery and Hyperbaric Medicine Center, the only 24-hour hyperbaric center in the region, recently provided hyperbaric oxygen treatment to an 11-day-old newborn boy and his mother. Girl Scouts of Rhode Island declared 2012 as "The Year of the Girl" and recognized any baby girl born on March 12, by inviting them to become members of "Troop 2012". Women & Infants, through its participation in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network, has been named the lead center in a 14-site, $25 million study of cytomegalovirus (CMV), the most common infection during pregnancy.
