Meet Some of Our Employees: Dennis, CNE Home Health |

Dennis
Registered Nurse
Care Partner
Personal: I live in Somerset, Massachusetts, with my fiancée and our dog. We are both currently planning our wedding, as well as renovating our house. We’re getting married next June in Hawaii.
Education: I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island. I plan to attend graduate school to become a nurse practioner.
My Work: Having worked in the intensive care unit at another local hospital, working in home care has been a unique and positive experience. In home care, I have a much greater role in a patient's plan of care. I am responsible for assessing a patient's medical, financial, psychosocial, and safety needs; then he or she makes the appropriate referrals to assist that patient. And I still perform many of the same tasks that a nurse does in a hospital, such as physical assessments, wound care, foley, suprapubic, and gastrostomy tube care, medication management, and, most importantly, patient teaching.
Best About My Job: One of the best parts of my job is seeing people progress towards their goals. In the intensive care units, I would often care for patients for extended periods of time and never know if and when they were discharged from the hospital.
Best About CNE Home Health: Flexibility and autonomy given to practioners at this organization make a real and rewarding difference in your day-to-day work life.
