Health Tip: Buying Children's Shoes
Make sure they're sturdy
(HealthDay News) -- When fitting a child's feet for a pair of shoes, following some simple guidelines can help ensure the best fit.
The American Podiatric Medical Association offers this advice:
Test the heel to make sure it's stiff. Squeeze on both sides and make sure the shoe doesn't collapse.
Make sure the sole is flexible and not too stiff, and bends appropriately with your child's foot.
Make sure the shoe has a firm, rigid middle and doesn't twist in the middle if you turn it.
