Job Description
Perform daily clinical operations of the Echocardiography Lab to include performing Transthoracic and Transesophogeal Echocardiograms, Contrast Studies using Definity, Bubble Studies, Stress Echocardiograms and Chemical Stress Echocardiograms. Will also perform vascular studies as needed to include Arterial Plethysmography (pulse volume, amplitude, contour), Arterial Doppler studies (systemic segmental pressures), duplex/sonogram scans (Carotid Duplex, upper and lower extremity, Arterial and Venous, Abdominal Aortic and Renal Artery Duplex). Sonographer will include preliminary interpretation of studies, including an assessment of ventricular performance, and assistance during transesophageal procedures as well as possess the ability recognize the effects of certain diseases and medications on wave form variability. The sonographer will be utilizing 2D, M-Mode and Doppler techniques to evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data while assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The provision of services includes assessing patients, developing plan for accomplishing procedure(s) ordered, setting up room and equipment to accomplish procedure, and ensuring quality images. Performs related duties as required.
Required Education
Training from a Cardio-Vascular program required. A minimum of three years practical experience or equivalent is required. ARDMS or RCS required AND RVT or RVS.
