Job Description
SUMMARY To act as the lead clinical staff. Make clinical decisions for each consumer and delegate clinical-related tasks to staff when necessary. To work alongside the program manager and other supervisory staff to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. To assist in coordinating care and developing a care plan for consumer. To work directly with EMS and other referring agencies to address clinical needs of consumers. To utilize the program’s harm reduction approach to substance use disorders. Assess for medical needs as necessary. Utilize Continuum of Care and wrap around philosophies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Screen, triage, and assess consumers admitted to the program. -Implement the consumer plan of care -Assist consumer with self-administration of medication when appropriate. -Collaborate with the staff members in providing care to consumers. -Perform recordkeeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other center requirements; Assessments, CIWA, Incident Reports -Lead staff when there is a medical/psychiatric emergency and utilize emergency systems and CPI/CPR protocol when necessary -Administer Narcan when appropriate -Maintain cooperative relationships with consumers, staff and the public. -Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences. -Perform duties in accordance with Departmental goals, objectives and standards OCCASIONAL DUTIES: Serve on appropriate Center committees. Required Education
-Rhode Island Registered Nurse License. -Associates degree or higher in nursing -Experience working with psychiatric and substance abuse disorder patients. -Meets MHRH requirements for Emergency Certification. -Experience in medical settings a plus -Experience with substance use disorders, co-occurring consumers, and detox a plus -Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
