Job Description
The primary purpose of the quality assurance coordinator position is to provide pharmacy related technical assistance to medication safety and quality assurance processes. This individual will assist the Department of Pharmacy by performing functions such as data collection, analysis and record keeping, and quality assurance related activities. Key functions include performing data collection related to medication use quality and quality assurance through visual observation, clinical data abstraction, review of automated reports, and on-site testing in order to optimize patient and institutional outcomes related to clinical, financial and legal parameters. Assists in the data entry, record keeping, and report generation related to the quality assurance plan for the Department of Pharmacy. Provides technical support related to policy and regulatory body compliance. Assists with Pharmacy purchasing activities, and performs other job related duties as requested.
Required Education
Bachelor of Science degree required. Experience in pharmacy and familiarity with drug usage with CPHT certification and RI Board of Pharmacy Tech II preferred with quality, control or lead technician experience in a hospital environment. Required to travel to CNE operating units as well as WIH off-site facilities. Must have a valid driver's license access to an appropriately insured automobile.  Must have proficiency with hospital computer systems, pharmacy technology and pharmacy automation. Strong written, verbal, and organizational and problem solving skills desired. Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), possess good interpersonal skills, and be proficient in the English language.
