Job Description
The Associate Tumor Registrar is responsible for the Tumor Registry at the hospital. Assists with compliance activities, such as American College of Surgeons readiness and Cancer Committee requirements. Maintains a database on all cancer patients diagnosed and treated, and a lifetime follow-up of cancer patients to meet the American College of Surgeons standards for approved Cancer Program. Reports cancer cases and lifetime follow-up to the State Tumor Registry per State Statute. Retrieves and analyzes registry data to disseminate the data in accordance with ethics and confidentiality policies of the hospital.
Required Education
Associate's degree in recognized allied health field (as determined by the National Cancer Registrars Association Council on certification); Bachelor's Degree preferred; or one year college-level curriculum in Cancer Data Management/Cancer Registry and at least one year of experience in Cancer Registry.
