Responsibilities of the History Teacher
•Develop and organize a History curriculum that meets school standards.
•Establish standards of student performance which can be quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated.
•Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials which are consistent with school guidelines.
•Develop knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the 9-12 grades.
•Promote students' critical and creative thinking and analysis.
•Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
•Minimum 1-3 years of teaching experience.
•Ability to teach across disciplines in a humanities setting is a plus.
•Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) certification in History/Social Studies 7-12
