The Programmer Analyst for the National Perinatal Information Center (NPIC) is responsible for assisting in the design and development of software and application programs used in the analysis of clinical and financial inpatient and outpatient healthcare data. The incumbent develops a thorough understanding of company-wide and departmental-level workflow and operations, and assists in documenting procedures associated with data analysis, quality control and output production. Develops, tests and debugs ad-hoc and custom programs. Provides support for existing software and application issues, updates and revisions. Implements new technologies to support regulatory compliance requirements and both present and future strategic goals. Assist and performs other job-related duties as requested.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related area with one to three years experience as Programmer/Analyst, Support Analyst, or related position, preferably in a health care and/or hospital environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong computer programming and logic skills in a Microsoft environment (i.e. Visual Basic, MS Office, XML, SQL). Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills with ability to create and maintain documentation are required. Clinical data knowledge or healthcare terminology is highly desirable.
