Job Description
The Senior Research Assistant is responsible for assisting in the recruitment of study subjects and acquisition and analysis of patient information for multiple clinical research projects. The incumbent is responsible for preparing and maintaining study records, entering data into databases, and performing basic database maintenance and statistical analysis for study data. Screens NICU patients for eligibility for multiple research projects and obtains informed consent as needed. Reviews relevant literature to gather information and may participate in the development of research protocols. Provides administrative support, such as maintaining IRB documents and assisting in IRB submission procedures. Coordinates and oversees data collection, storage and shipment of specimens as needed. Completes relevant study data collections forms and prepares study reports as required by protocol. Willingness to work on-call nights, weekends and holidays is highly desirable. Performs other related duties as requested.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Clinical or technical research experience, including data collection and entry into a computer database system required. A minimum of two years experience in research and at least one year working with newborn infants is preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Having a flexible schedule to be able and willing to work on-call nights, weekends and holidays is preferred.
