Robert G. Padula was named to the Butler Hospital Board of Trustees in 2008 and served on the Executive/Planning/Governance and Investment committees, as well as chair of the Finance Committee. He is chair of the Care New England Credentials Committee and is a member of its Finance Committee. He is chief executive officer of Gencorp Insurance Group, Inc., and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) insurance designations. He is past president of Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island CPCU Society, and the Rhode Island CPCU Scholarship Fund. He has also served on the advisory boards of several national and regional insurance carriers, including five years as chair of The Travelers National Insurance Agents Council. In 2000, he received the Independent Insurance Agents of Rhode Island’s Carleton I. Fisher Outstanding Agent award. He is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and did graduate work in business administration at Providence College.
