John R. Galvin was elected to the Women & Infants Board of Trustees in 2009 and served as chair of its Finance Committee. He is chair of the Care New England Audit and Compliance Committee and sits on the Investment and Finance committees. He is chief financial officer of Collette Vacations, the nation’s oldest major tour operator, where he also serves on the company’s Board and Executive Committee. He joined Collette in 1989, having previously served as an accountant and audit manager with KPMG Peat Marwick. He is also on the board at Meeting Street Center and Gilbane Inc. He is the finance committee chair for Tourism Cares, past member of the board of directors and executive committee for the U.S. Tour Operators Association and the Providence Boys & Girls Club. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he earned a degree in business administration, and Bryant University where he earned a master’s of business administration.
