Ghulam M. Surti, MD is chief of the Kent Unit at Butler Hospital. In addition, he is a clinical assistant professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, and associate director of the Brown University Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Program at Butler, where is he is also president of the Butler Hospital Staff Association. He is a member of the Care New England Strategic Planning and Bylaws Task Force committees, and a member of the following committees at Butler: Utilization Review, Credentials, Medical Matters, and the Brown University Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program. He is a diplomat in psychiatry and psychiatry with added qualifications in geriatric psychiatry with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a member of: the American Psychiatric Association; American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry; Rhode Island Psychiatric Society; and Association of Pakistani Physicians of Rhode Island. He currently serves as sub-investigator/principal investigator on several studies on Alzheimer’s disease treatment.
